Beauty Survival Kit – Don’t Leave Home Without It

Too many times I have found myself digging through my purse, car glove compartment or asking a friend to dig through her purse to find beauty essentials that I NEED at that moment.  More times than not, I have found that during these “emergency” moments, supplies were not readily accessible! Beauty taboo, right?

Recently, I read about carrying a “Beauty Survival Kit” to protect myself from these “emergency” situations. GENIUS!

At a bare minimum, a beauty survival kit should include the following:

Clear lip gloss or lip balm – Weather, licking your lips and other elements can be harsh on your lips and leave you with dry, chappy, unkissable (GASP!) lips. Carry clear lip gloss or a Lip Balm with you and don’t be caught with dry lips again (Tokyo Milk’s Cherry Bomb Lip Balm is my FAVORITE!!!).

Hairspray or gel If you simply can’t stand to have a single hair out of place, it is in your best interests to pack a miniature bottle of hairspray or gel.

Tissues You never know when your allergies might act up or a sudden event may cause the waterworks to spring a leak. By prepared to sop up any unexpected tears with a few tissues packed handily inside your pocketbook.

Miniature bottle of lotion To keep your hands soft and moisturized all day, carry a small bottle of lotion with you and constantly apply. Also, in the dire absence of hairspray or gel, you can also use a tiny bit of lotion to smooth down fly-aways and cowlicks.

Mini hair brush or comb Wind and humidity are no friend to straightened hair. Keep a comb or brush with you to tame those unruly locks during less-than-ideal weather conditions.

Hair clip or elastic A brush or comb not taming your hair enough? Style your hair with a clip or ponytail it up for a quick fix.

If carrying a purse large enough to carry your survival kit is not your style then consider keeping them in a zip lock bag conveniently stowed away in your car’s glove compartment.
