Natural Cures for Dry Skin

It’s no secret that cold weather and dry skin have are good friends. During the winter months sometimes it seems your skin just can’t retain enough moisture.

Try these tips if this winter weather has your skin looking like a lizard in the middle of shedding.

  1. Dab on olive oil. Olive oil grooms dry cuticles, works wonders on hands and elbows, removes makeup and soothes and conditions itchy, dry skin all over the body. Just add a thin layer of organic extra virgin olive oil to your troubled area for a good-for-your-body home remedy.
  2. Try natural exfoliants. Plain Greek yogurt will remove dry skin and leave you feeling refreshed. It is a fairly safe exfoliant for dry skin because it exfoliates using lactic acid, not scrubbing granules.
  3. Use the healing power of honey. Honey is a time-tested cure for chapped, cracked lips. Apply a little organic honey in the evening to your chapped lips and you will wake up with smooth, yummy lips. Also try this on cracked elbows and heels!
  4. Treat your skin from the inside out. Stay hydrated by drinking lots of water. Also, a diet rich in magnesium, essential fatty acids, vitamin C and beta carotene naturally feeds your skin from the inside out and makes it less prone to dryness.
