Baring it All – Tricks to Keep Summer Skin Beautiful

Summer is officially here (weather wise) and the East Bay has been getting 3-digit temps. I am envying those of you in the Peninsula and surrounding areas! =)

With the temperature rising many of us are opting for less clothing to battle the heat, which means every inch of dull skin on our bodies is on display.  Here are a few tips to help scrub away the dullness!

Exfoliate: Rubbing your skin with sugar is gentle enough on your skin and leaves it feeling soft and smooth while exfoliating dead skin cells. If you have the ingredients available in your kitchen try mixing a cup of sugar with a half cup of olive oil and rub into damp skin in a circular motion. If you don’t feel like concocting your own scrub, check out our Body Sugar scrub (available at all i Bar locations).

Be Gentle: Gently buff the sensitive areas (neck, chest, and stomach) of your skin with a soft hand towel and cleanser.

Soften Rough Spots with Citrus: Elbows, heels and knees sometimes call for the “big guns” to soften them up. By cutting a lemon in half, pouring coarse sea salt on both halves, and grinding them into the areas you can help break down the tough skin and reveal the softer you. :)
